I think there motivation was getting the money from the videos and rewards for "pretending" to find Kendra and Amy. A question I have though is, what are the movies going to be about?
I think the motiveation was to make 1,000,000 dollars off those two kids' movies. But how would they get 1,000,000 dollars off of a movie? Maybe Mrs. Edgerton has to pay a ransom!!!
I think the men's modivation is the rewards for "finding" the 2 kids.
