Chapter Seven
On page 56, Amy asked Hugh, "What about me? Will you let me go, too?"
Hugh responded by saying, "I did time in prison, and I'm never going back, ever."
I think it means that Hugh does not want to go back to the slammer so he will not let her go or she will tell the police and they will catch Hugh and Smokey.
i think Hugh meant he got in trouble before, and by letting Amy go it would get him in trouble agian and that is the oppisite of what he wanted to do.

ReplyDeleteI think he meant by this that he was definitley going too let her go to because if he already went too prison, and doesn't really wan to go back.
ReplyDeleteI think he meant that when he was in prison, he HATED it!!!!! And so if he let her go she would just go and tell the popo!
